Oval - Larger than square. Fits most mouthpieces easily.
Square - Smaller than oval. Will fit ALL mouthpieces, but is especially suitable for smaller mouthpieces like metal soprano.
.3mm vs. .8mm - Thickness of patch. Harder biters or those with sharper teeth should choose the thicker .8mm
Black vs. Clear - Personal preference! People tend to like one over the other. Ask your teacher if you're unsure.
