Music Services is often in the situation where instruments are replaced under insurance for customers. Often it is not economical for the insurance company to have the instrument repaired and then sold. Sometimes in this situation if Music Services donates the repair free of charge, an insurance company will come to the party and release any salvage value of the instrument. This results in a very generous giveaway for the lucky recipient. We are incredibly grateful to the insurance companies who choose to give back to the community in this way.
Mid 2011 - Muramatsu GX RBE flute RRP NZ$10,995.00- Lantern Insurance
Five entrants were selected by Music Services and Lantern Insurance and went on to the second round of the competition. The five selected entrants then provided a short video up to five minutes of themselves performing on flute.
Theses entries were judged by Bridget Douglas, principal flute and Kirstin Eade, Associate pricipal flute of the NZSO. The prize was a reconditioned B-Foot Muramatsu GX flute fully serviced by Music Services (New Zealand RRP$10,995.00) and free freight to the winner.

Late 2010 - Yamaha Xeno Trumpet YTR 8335RUK - Vero Insurance
This prize was offered by Vero Insurance and Music Services and was a top of the line Yamaha Xeno Trumpet, a YTR 8335 with reverse leadpipe. For this instrument we received many deserving applications. It was unfortunate we only had one trumpet to give away. The New Zealand RRP on this instrumet was NZ$5,495.00, and represented a great prize to the successful winner; an instrument that would develop and enable the person playing it.
